Ana Rolaca Costa

Ana Rolaça Costa, born in 1983 in Silves, is a visual artist whose profound works tackle essential themes surrounding corporeality and the erosion of identity. Through her artistic expression, Ana raises questions against societal norms that impose unrealistic beauty standards, embracing the genuine essence of humanity in her creations.

Throughout her career, Ana's art has undergone significant evolution. Between 2008 and 2011, she delved into “body perceptions,” prompting viewers to engage in self-reflection. Ana Rolaça Costa holds a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon, which she earned in 2006. She furthered her studies and obtained a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki in 2009. Presently, she resides and maintains her artistic practice in Lagoa.
