Andrea Eve Hopkins

Indigenous artist from Aotearoa, New Zealand. Trained at leading mainstream and Maori art schools. Mentored by other leading Maori artists. Exhibits and works around the country. Her studio is based within Whangarei's - The Quarry Arts Centre.

First solo exhibition was in 2003 with the Studio of Contemporary Art (SOCA) in Auckland. Held in the Waikato Museum collection. Featured in books "New Zealand's Favourite Artists", "New Zealand - A Painted Country" , "Kahui Matariki" and TV series, "Te Kete Aronui".

Focuses on combining Maori imagery and contemporary culture to tell universally human stories with a sense of place.
