André Martens finished the Academy of fine Arts in Arnhem, the Netherlands at the end of the eighties. In the nineties he exposed his work in Amsterdam and various places in the Netherlands and in the U.S.A. in Z gallery in New York and Gallery on the Rim in San Francisco.
After 2000 he showed his work at the Maria Chailloux Gallery in Amsterdam and other exhibition spaces in the Netherlands as well in Washington DC and Mexico City and at art fairs in Amsterdam and around in the Netherlands.
From 2005 till 2016 he was the founder and director of two art spaces; Mart House Gallery and Momart; representing young and promising artists by showing them in these art spaces and art fairs in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Miami and Madrid.
From 2016 he is increasingly focusing on his own work ; ‘once an artist always an artist’
