ABOUT
EDUCATION

I was born and raised in Imus, Cavite, Philippines. I have considered myself as a multimedia artist. I do traditional and experimental art. Aside from that, I also write, take pictures and I now work as Shrine Curator under the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. My family discovered my inclination to the arts when I was barely 6 years old and since then I have never ceased to explore the arts. Simon Saulog, a Filipino master painter of the Madonnas from my hometown who died in oblivion, has remained my foremost source of inspiration. He was a close friend and a mentor to me. I am also amazed at the genius of Monet, Manet, and Cezanne. Since I experiment a lot, I discovered the versatility of digital art. Now, my current passion is to do photo manipulation and render a retro pop look on my images thus creating a touch of Andy Warhol. Foliage, people, and landscapes are my favorite subjects.

I have over 13 years of University administration in specific areas of communication or public relations, research, student recruitment and in the teaching of English as a Second Language and 5 years of secondary school teaching. After 14 years, I decided to pack my bags and leave the academe to go home to my real home, the Arts.Education:Graduate Certificate in Language Teaching (1993)(Master of Arts in Teaching)Philippine Normal UniversityManilaMaster of Arts in Language Teaching (2004)Academic Requirements EarnedOngoing Thesis: Web-based Lessons for teaching Essay WritingPhilippine Normal UniversityManilaBachelor of Arts in English (1985)With minor in HistoryRecipient, Outstanding Performance in Scholastic JournalismPresidents Plaque, Outstanding Student LeadershipImus InstituteParticipated in Budhi: Faces and Scenes fromt the Philippines (Gesichter Und Szenen Von Den Philippinen, art exhibitions in Germany, Belgium, and Austria, April 25 May 1, 1995 under the auspices of the New Filipino-German Association e.V.; Pira-pirasong Buo, April, 1994.
