Arjo Passchier

I'm an artist since 1989. Make abstract paintings, drawings, graphic work and c-prints. Have national and international exhibitions. Live and work in Groningen, the Netherlands. In my paintings composition, rithm, colour, contrast and structure are the subjects. Sometimes the paintings are so rich in material they seem to balance on the edge of being sculptural. The experiment with to painting strange materials give the paintings a tactile dimension. You want to touch them, hold them and smell them... Concerning the drawings: on this site you see a few examples of the ongoing serie titled: 'On the nature of Light'.
