I am a young self-taught Artist based in Sydney, Australia. I have always been a creative person and my love for art began as a young child. I tend to find myself most interested in people and the majority of my work focuses on detailed pencil portraits inspired by the beauty inside the fashion world. I enjoy drawing the more peculiar, angular faces of high fashion models as I find them to be a more interesting subject when compared to what you might call traditionally beautiful people. In addition to my fashion illustrations, I create varying artworks where death is a commonly reoccurring theme. Fellow artists, music, mood, etc also have a great influence on how a piece will turn out. Although my work is realistic, I don't strive for photographic accuracy. I begin a project by taking a few different elements from photos or life and arranging them in a way I find appealing. My portraits are often accompanied by a splash of colour or abstract shapes and my colour palette usually leans towards cool tones of black, white, purple, blue and green. I use a variety of different media for my art, but most commonly I use graphite, charcoal and carbon pencils. I love the high levels of contrast that can be achieved with these mediums. My application of pencil is careful and precise while my paintings are a little less controlled. I am always trying and researching different media as I don't like to limit myself. I also enjoy seeing the new and interesting effects that a different product might yield. Most recently I have been drawn to watercolour & ink for their unpredictable nature.
