Born in 1981 in London, Ed Anthony is a self-taught artist. ‘Drawing is an international language that we can all embrace. I see drawing as a powerful way of communication, be it a personal or explorative tool for thought and investigation’ Ed Anthony His latest portraits include pencil drawings of iconic architects who are currently making an impact on our built environment. The portraits capture the raw characteristics of the sitters by discarding dress and social surroundings and let the faces speak for themselves. Ed Anthony showcased his first solo show Portraits: In-Depth at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 2014. He has also exhibited portraits at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, Royal Western Academy of Arts, Royal College of Arts and Newlyn Art Gallery in Cornwall. Ed is currently preparing new artworks to be included in an exhibition in southern California in autumn 2015.
