Blackpool based artist, Jennifer Bennett, graduated in 2010 with a BA(Hons) in Fine art and Professional Practice. Since then Jennifer has worked on the renovation of 'They Shoot Horse's Don't They' (the largest mirror ball in the world, situated on Blackpool's promenade), has been in a selection of group shows and has created work for Blackpool's Culture Shops (putting work in empty shops windows). "My work is often understated and unassuming, yet not without presence or quiet authority. My work can focus on anything from nature to still life and beyond,looking at the idea of capturing the essence of my subject, rather than a straight copy of what I see. At the same time my works are always about the minor and the hidden: things so subtle and evanescent they are often overlooked. In it's finished state the works become Abstract, nonrepresentational ideals of beauty."
