My professional name is GMBurley, I was born in 1967 in Birmingham into a family of artists and engineers.I studied art firstly at Archbishop Grimshaw School under my most influential teachers Mr Tony Metcalf and Mr Banner. my skills have enabled me to have a hand in signwriting, magazine and newspaper publishing, architecture, CAD and computer animation. I studied anatomy on a course for classical sculpture and from the works of NC Wyeth, Raphael, Leonardo and michaelangelo. I like etchings, woodcuts, and colour theory, chiaroscuro, classical compositions. I am trying to recapture the past for the sake of jules vernes book. His book is being drawn according to his text, as accurately as I can. Vernes prose is very exciting, this is a personal journey full of continuity mistakes and hidden surprises but I wouldn't change a thing except the sub as I wanted to add my own stamp to its look. I have been a computor games artist and have worked on Colony wars and colony wars vengence, other games include wipe out, lemmings tribes, battlefield 2, medal of honour 4 and about 46 other games. I left with my sanity still intact. I used to live with my beautiful ex, Heather as pictured in the portfolio but the book took over my time and I currently live with my son and 3 dogs in Scotland. my email address is
