Diplômée de l'école de Design Créapôle Esdi en 1992, Catherine Roumanoff travaille au studio de création de Jean-Charles de Castelbajac puis crée sa propre marque de design pour enfant. Elle va signer pendant 20 ans des dizaines de milliers de produits qui seront distribuées par différentes marques. Parallèment à son travail de designer elle ne cesse de réaliser des portraits à l'huile. (première expo au chateau de Gordes en 1993) Elle est l'auteur la conceptrice et la productrice de Dim Dam Doum les petits doudou, série télévisée qui a été diffusée par Disney Chanel (2004). Elle dessine des costumes de théâtre et en choisissant les tissus, elle tombe amoureuse des textures et des motifs des tissus d'ameublements et elle commence à composer des portraits textiles à partir de 1998. En 2014, Catherine se forme à l'hypnose thérapeutique et ouvre son cabinet. Elle se passionne pour différentes forme de transes propices à la création. Elle va écrire trois romans et 4 manuels de développement personnel, qu’elle illustre. En 2019, un musée lui offre une rétrospective de ses portraits textiles et édite un catalogue complet. Elle continue, depuis, de produire des portraits textiles essentiellement, dans sa maison atelier des bords de Loire.
