“The power of 3” is a about the interrelation of 3 distinctive and related women. The departed grand-mother, the daughter and the grand-daughter. I also call this piece “ Spirit, Earth and Wind”. It is made with 3, vertically placed, Micro-macramé pieces sown into a raw canvas.

Valencia first entered the world of the visual arts in 2016, where she completed a certification at the University of Sherbrooke. She discovered a whole new passion for the arts and is invited to exhibit her first piece in a collective exhibition named “Black Month History”, a first for the university. The new artist pursues her art, and takes part in the 2nd and 3rd editions of the Caribbean festival in Magog, as part a figure of the festival main and as an artist exhibiting art works, “The Power of 3”, “Brown Skin “, and “Afro Girl”, both in the summers of 2018 and 2019. This talented young woman, being also a crafts maker opened her first Etsy Shop, named Valencia Art Design, and opens up to the world where she sales hand-knotted jewelry, an ancient technique called macramé as well as art works. Pébéo, approaches her and she becomes a tester for the new line of Fluid Acrylic to be launched, in 2019. In 2021, Couleurs d’enfants, a new non-profit organization approaches her, and Valencia collaborates with her new decals inspired by her mixed roots and afro art called “J’aime mes Cheveux”. She then exhibits 2 new Fluid’Art pieces for an art gallery on the theme of the Caribbeans, “La mer Rêvée” & “Caraïbes Chérie”, for the summer of 2021. Valencia has an artistic approach that is her very own. Mouvement is felt through her art as it reflects her love of dance. Especially in her Fluid'Art works. She loves to create with mixed media such as textile art, macramé, bead weaving and more. Valencia also practices afro-feminism art. All different reflections of her interests.
