This is a 4'x4' work created on a hand built frame and panel. Edges are finished with black so no need to frame. This work starts with a panel prepared with fresco, Then I render with acrylic, casein, spray paint and glazes. The surface is worked with sanding and overlapped colors. It reads with a nice nuance and texture. The base has a natural ivory quality. This work was inspired by primitives and minimalist design ideas. Included are Japanese, Scandinavian and midcentury inspired graphics. The work has an oxygen filled spacial quality while harkening back to a color palette reminiscent of 1970's Leggos. LaChance is represented by galleries across the US and has hung in multiple museums. Her work will soon be exhibited at Georgia Southern University in a show curated by a contributing writer to Art News. Later in March her work will be in a solo exhibition at the Evansville Museum of Art, History and Science.
