Grey Matters Painting

January Garabedian lives and works in Santa Monica. A resident since the age of 13, she attended Santa Monica schools through Santa Monica College. Her father introduced her to art at a very young age. They would often be found in a corner of the house, painting a still life set up by her dad. During the 1980's she worked with a residential architect designing, building and installing stained glass windows, broken tile and ceramic counter tops, and other residential decorative appointments. Before settling into her current mixed media pieces, January explored a number of media including; serigraphs, color pencils, oil and acrylic, stained/leaded glass, and broken tile ceramics. The many influences of these processes can be seen in her latest work.
