As long as I can remember, I have always loved to draw and paint. Growing up in a pristine and remote corner of India, with Evergreen forests around, I was enamored by the idyllic surroundings. I experienced and observed the immersion into nature and it has always fascinated me and influenced me. Art was a natural outlet for my imagination, where the world was the canvas and my mind was the creator. Women's portraits appeal to my senses the most, however, I love depicting nature and its bounty. I try to express certain moods in my art, and I want the observers to perceive them as well. My paintings are realistic with a shade of abstraction, it’s a metaphor of how we have emotions deep within which are never expressed, yet they are our identity. What I really wish is that people stop by the paintings and allow themselves to take some time and try to understand the emotions of the painting. I have a personal bond with every painting so I always have a hard time detaching from them. I was always drawn into exploring with curiosity and awe, this innate need led me to not only try my hands at painting but also architecting a project, web design, or cooking. Each of these activities felt like magic where I can transform simple into something sublime using my creativity, a reward that feeds my soul. My ideas have a genesis in my subconscious, it’s a very slow and iterative process, once I feel the ideas have tangible outlines, I start making the sketches. This process of contemplation and reimagining continues till I finish the painting. Even while I am absorbed in the painting process, the time slows down for me, I feel one with the painting and I observe, sense, and process the emotions which manifest in my Art. My journey in Art started with pencil techniques, and I was determined to capture the emotions and shades with the pencil itself, however, I felt the need to try other mediums and explore. So I took the challenge of acrylics and oil and worked with it. I love to experiment with Gold leaves and other metallic leaves to change the texture and feel of the paintings. What I relish most about a painting on a canvas is that it has its own life, it is not static, it is constantly changing with the elements, with the time, with the angles, with the light, and with the person looking at it.
