Shoko Lee was born in 1948. Originally from Japan, Shoko settled down in Malaysia after marrying Lee Kian Seng, a well-known Malaysian artist. () Her art has corresponded to the different phases of her life: from publishing Sunny Boy in 1980, to "My Diary" series in the 1980s and 90s, to the current "Dragon Horse" theme, Shoko has found inspiration in nature and everyday life. Her vivid imagination has transformed ordinary objects and animals into cheerful individuals bursting with exuberance. Previously using mainly watercolours, Shoko's current works are mostly oil paintings. Status : Full-time artist since 1981 (Visual art). Married to Malaysian artist LEE Kian Seng ,18 September 1972. Major medium : Painting (oil, watercolour, ink) and children's literature.
