The Earth of DEMETER Painting

Born in 1983, in Incheon, South Korea. Works and resides in Seoul, South Korea. [ The Earth of DEMETER ] I do a job with the theme searching for nature, a human being and Utopia. I started imagining and creating "˜The Earth of DEMETER' which is the creatively original ground that creates lots of living things, forms a human being and makes all things purify, and developed into making Seoul as of 2009 when I am living now as my Utopia. The visual division in my work was developed from drawing through an overlap and transformation to multicolored surface division. I made only the "˜essence' for the shape of what I wanted to express be intensive and reflected the emotional color in every moment to the object after drawing by excluding meaningless parts and making them be simplified. The emotional color is my subjective color for the object. The paintings at that time when [ The Earth of DEMETER ] was painted pursued Grotesque transformation painting regardless of perspective, proportion, life-size and etc. The "˜place' painting Utopia was moved from the nature with a primitive image to "˜the present' of "˜a city=nature' when I'm living now. And so the visual point was moved to the accident and the person which becomes a current issue and the space which is interested. For my later works, I expressed and by concentrating on a color which expresses another situation of a city and expressed by combining the natural objects with a primitive image to the Utopia where I who loves summer want to go. As you may know through the given subject of < The Earth of DEMETER - Invitation to that place >, I understood plane paintings in my individual exhibition as the "˜place' in order to search for vitality and spread mythological Utopia. It is not the place to draw a painting but the work to make the manufacturing of a work transform into mythological process. I try to find in Seoul as of 2009 when I am living by painting the current time and space as Utopia in the situation that I yearns Utopia where it is impossible to exist in the actual.
