We each have our own flow within us and we are all involved in the collective flow. It leaves traces within us and gently envelops us. It lightly touches us, and we feel the warmth that we can share. In all the things around us, we can observe the touches of the flow. The wind has no home, the river...

My name is Dina Ābele, I was born in 1969 in Riga, Latvia in a family of artists. Educated in Riga, graduated applied Arts Secondary School and afterwards the Graphic department of Art Academy of Latvia (BFA - 1994, MFA - 1997). Have been taking part in exhibitions since 1991, working in the Art Academy of Latvia as a drawing teacher, the associate professor in Department of Drawing and working in book design field. I draw and paint. Drawing and painting has been my passion since my childhood. When the colour touches the canvas, it is the moment out of time, out of everyday routine. A moment when all attention is concentrated in a line, form and story, its tension, movement, mood, ease and secret. That is happiness. Whether we like it or not, all we experience – inspires us. Events and relationship around us affects us, the way we think, what we do and how we do it. In my work I would like to tell stories that delight, cheer, encourage not to lose hope in finding time interconnections with each other – for talks, for searching, for silence. We might think that silence is a circumstance which is empty, that a desert is an empty place. But maybe everything is hidden exactly – begins the conversation with yourself. Colours drift over each other. The mood changes, the story changes. The unpredictable process is a secret. And a this temptation always is exciting and enticing. Unveil the unknown, it is a endless search that is pushing us forward – from observation in to a question that leads to an answer. You touch and want to feel, but it disappears as the morning glow. It is the secret that unites us together, that evokes the viewers attention to the painting. The light changes and thoughts run by and I want to share it.
