The walker is the representation of modern man (with his monochrome city clothes) who always needs to recharge his batteries in the simplicity and beauty of nature. Alysson Duarte Rodrigues is a brazilian self-taught artist living in France since 2010, where he started his career as painter after many years in the academic scientific research. " I am drawn to the expression and movement of emotions on a canvas until the technique is surpassed by the feelings". As a poet from my hometown (Divinópolis - Brazil) once said: "I don't know why I am attracted to this object, but I am happy that it exists". This feeling that cannot be explained or that many artists, philosophers and poets spend their whole lifes trying to express through their works is my anchor and my main approach in painting. The complexity of human emotions and the beauty of nature are my main references. I like to be guided by my feelings when I see a natural landscape or observe my daily life. This part of observation is crucial for my creations. The details of a human expression, an unexpected movement, a mixture of colors by overlaying the windows of buildings, walking in the forest and my own experiences. All these little things together inspire me enormously. Kandinsky and Monet inspire me a lot. Their artworks recognizable at first glance resonates in my own art with dots and dashes of color, the impressionism, the surrealism and the emotions. I sometimes start with a mental sketch, sometimes with a blank canvas, sometimes with photos, sometimes with a single color, sometimes with a dot of color on the canvas. Not really a technical approach but always a feeling, an emotion, a desire. I like to paint by erasing the layers of colors and this approach gives a rendering to the painting that I appreciate. I like to surprise myself by putting the painting in the opposite direction and giving brushstrokes without thinking. This action leads to a deeper reflection of the drawing. In one hundred percent of the cases, this change makes me bounce back, giving the artwork a new direction with a new emotion. I wish my art could bring joy to every home it enters in one big never-ending movement.
