I am a Saatchi Online Critic's Choice: .html born san francisco reside brooklyn I do not begin with a set plan other than to create a layered image. I am interested in the tactile possibilities of my abstract geometric formations. Each piece starts off by "˜sketching' a kind of mad lattice structure using tape. Subsequent layers of paint, applied with palette knives, and tape are carefully controlled using basic geometry for balance while simultaneously looking to discover new opportunities for juxtaposition. The tape remains or is removed to create the desired effect. Paint is sometimes added in the end as monochrome to highlight the layers.
