This magnificent stallion is Hlayyil Ramadan, the 2006 the World Arabian Horse (WAHO) Champion.

I took this studio portrait on location in the Royal Stables of Jordan, c.2008.
The beauty of horse captivated me, but so too did his keen intelligence balanced by his gentle manner and slight cheekiness.

As with all my horse and falcon portraits, I was more interested in the personality and presence of the subject. This stallion had a lot to offer me.

This archival, digital inkjet print was made to the highest possible standards using pigment-based chromium inks on ~300 gsm acid-free, cotton rag paper to ensure long-lasting permanence of inks and stability.

Professional mounting and framing using archival materials will help to maximize its longevity. Avoid displaying the print in bright, sunny areas with high levels of UV light, or in humid environments.

“It is only with the heart that one can truly see. What is essential is invisible to the eye" ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, "The Little Prince" When I like a work of art, it is because I am drawn to it emotionally. Without knowing why, I instinctively know how it makes me feel. Beauty and simplicity, celebrating the aesthetic, silencing the noise and transcending the mundane, everyday realities, allowing fragments of memories to feed into present experiences, exploring what resonates within. I seek emotional engagement, to have the feeling of the night, not to just see it as it is. This is my approach to image-making. ~ Over a period of 25 years, I learned my craft working in advertising and design and on art projects and exhibitions. I gradually developed a style that resonated with the truth and emotion that I was seeking. Recurring themes in my work relate to identity, and belonging. I have exhibited in numerous shows internationally, and have won several awards. My prints are owned by art lovers and collectors worldwide, and are included in several public and private collections. I now spend much of my time working on art projects and tutoring in photography and photogravure printmaking in my ancient farmhouse studio in Spain. I combine creative interests with a healthy lifestyle connecting to nature, working on my organic farm, and being with my wife and our family of Saluki dogs and Arabian horses.
