Contemptuous Sculpture

I live and work between Italy and Switzerland, and my vocation is carving wood to create inspiring art pieces, able to convey immediate sensations to those driven by a desire for the absolute. Starting from a raw and alive, yet inert material, wood, I try to give life to inspiring figures that reflect human aspirations. Since 1998 I have been working exclusively on special private orders. Now, after almost 30 years of technical-artistic refinement, I propose my art to the public with small artworks of my own free conception, original pieces created from wood through a long and laborious process, ready to hang on walls. My current debut in public comes through this series called "Silent Conquerors": a set of unique mid-sized semi-realistic human figures made from fir wood boards, grinded, burned in fire and colored to obtain unparalleled appearance and extraordinary resistance. Figures in which wild nature and human fragility meet and tell of a silent struggle against gravity and ancestral fears: such struggle is captured within what I call “the sculpture of challenge”.
