Dawid began his artistic journey working with glass, often incorporating uranium glass with its distinctive, vivid hue. Over time, his practice shifted toward ceramics, which has become his primary medium, though glass remains an important part of his work. He also explores mixed media, combining materials such as glass, ceramics, concrete, and glazes to create contrasts between rawness and sheen, smoothness and roughness. His ceramic works are deeply rooted in the wabi-sabi aesthetic and a sensitivity to imperfection. He is fascinated by traces of process — cracks, deformations, corrosion, and structures reminiscent of fractured earth or volcanic rock. Elements often perceived as flaws become in his hands carriers of authenticity and a primary language of form. Dawid does not seek perfection or harmony; his works emerge from emotion — often difficult and charged with unease — translated into muted colors, raw textures, and stark contrasts. While many of his objects reference vessel-like forms, they transcend functional use, becoming primarily sculptures. Dawid finds beauty where others see ugliness — in cracks, distortions, and raw surfaces. He believes true authenticity and the deepest form of beauty lie in what is imperfect and unsettling.
