I'm an italian handcraft artisan, I love sculpture and all my works are handmade.
When I was a child, I thought that my family had found me under a tree, because of the song that my father dedicated to me. Perhaps my passion for wood was born here, in the forests where I take inspirations for my creations and where I pick the roots of the trees that I transform into sculptures. But the forest is for me also a place where I can feel happy and free from all thoughts.
Enrica Barozzi was born in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), where she graduated at the Art Institute.
She moved to Florence, where she still lives, to study "Restoration of old wood" at "Palazzo Spinelli" and she worked in numerous workshops to learn the techniques of restoration, gilding and especially wood carving.
In 2007, she won the Golden Prize at the International Competition XXV Prize of Florence.
