My name is Linda Lieffers and I am a Canadian abstract expressionism artist inspired by my life in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
My artworks are generally of larger scale and coveted for their atmospheric qualities, blended hues, and varying luminosity.
I paint intuitively, allowing one brushstroke to lead to another, and often my initial thoughts give way to something entirely different. Each artwork takes me on a journey to an unknown destination.
Being an artist challenges me, it breaks me open, it sometimes hurts, it quiets my mind, it soothes me, and is incredibly therapeutic.
There is something fierce in the power of painting; the brushstrokes are my voice, the colors are my mood, and the subject is my own opinion.
I will forever be grateful for the ability to reach others through my artwork and the honor to bring something new and beautiful into this world.
I attended the University of Saskatchewan where I studied both Interior Design and Fine Art. I went on to study faux painting and finishing in San Francisco under the renowned artist Leonard Parsons, who hails from London England.
In 1988, I formed my own interior decorating and faux finishing company and began providing my skills and services to both commercial and residential clients until I relocated to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 2001.
I describe myself as a self-taught artist and I began painting full time in late 2018 to fulfill my desire of being constantly creative and challenged.
Tremendous joy comes from sharing my artwork with the viewer and most of all, feeling my spiritual creative gift being appreciated.
