Artsy Radish

My name is Radka Ruzicka and I am an intuitive mixed media abstract artist and the creator of Artsy Radish Designs.
(Note: sometimes my artwork is signed “Artsy Radish” and other times by my given name).

I was born in the Czech Republic and grew up in Australia. I now live in a peaceful rural community in British Columbia Canada with my musician husband and our goofy senior dog. I love the wild spaces of nature and am constantly inspired by the beauty around me.

I’m self-taught. I’ve been painting and creating for many years, and my art started to come together when I dove deeply into mixed media art journaling. Around the same time, an artist friend took me under her wing and mentored me from 2009-2015, helping me to develop my skills and to giving me the courae to take my art out of my journals and on to canvas.

It wasn’t until after I retired from natural medicine in 2018 that I finally found my art “voice”. My style is mostly mixed media and abstract, but I do like to try new things so who knows what I’ll have on offer in the near future.

I’m fortunate to have an art society where I live (Headwaters Art Society), so I am constantly surrounded and supported by gifted artists and have taught workshops on mixed media and art journaling as part of the HAS programs offered to members and the general public.
