Barbara Schricke

Barbara Schricke is a German painter. The academic rules of painting and drawing serve as a basis for her abstract art. Her workpieces are mostly inspired by nature. She's using botanical shapes and different moods (aroused by weather and light) to turn them into a particular visual language. Her paintings stand out due to a special, intense colourfulness and their own way of expression.

Variety in color and shape, material and structure - whether with pigments , chalk, sand or ashes - the color language has a clear priority. One time harmonizing, another time full of tension, shapes and colors lie side by side - an interplay of movement and calm tension and harmony keeps the eye of the viewer wandering: Always discovering something new, exploring emotions, processing associations. Thus the viewer will be an important part of the painting process.

Barbara Schricke was born in 1967 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She's working at her own art studio in Munich. The academic painter Prof. Claus Hipp gave her private lessons which allowed her to broaden her horizons. From 2014 to 2017 she took the additional chance of an academic training with Prof. Markus Lüpertz at the academy for fine arts AdbK.
