BBFM Collective (Bonfilio Barbara and Franco Moira)
We met at Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin and we have been working together artistically for years. The idea of the collective was born in the summer 2016 when we took contemporary part to two different art residencies.
Work is the result of an epistolary exchange where the ink stroke turns into drawing.
Each piece is the result of the dialogue between our personalities, and comes from each one's
contribution on the same support.
The email, the scanner and the printer were the main media for our correspondence, allowing us to
immediately and effectively share our work. Subsequently, we've also made use of traditional post
mail.
We aspire to a different way of producing art, that goes beyond the individual creation, The aim of
our work is to go beyond the individual way of producing art.
Intervening on an already traced out base allows us to build articulate mental landscapes, which are
the result of an almost immediate interaction from different places. A kind of alchemical dance
takes shape in which thought lines come to life.

We met at Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin and we have been working together artistically for years. The idea of the collective was born in the summer 2016 when we took contemporary part to two different art residencies, BOX ART carried out by Alberto D'Ambruso, director of “Critical Tuesdays” and ESKFF at Mana Contemporary in New York: it is thanks to this big physical distance we started to communicate through drawings by creating four handed works, using new and fast media, interacting artistically by the use of mails and the scanner.
