A recognized printmaker and artist Beej Nierengarten-Smith’s printmaking is
influenced by her travels in South America and East Asia. Her multi-
media prints employ appropriated iconography, which explores
representations of women in traditional cultures.
Her print “Chariots to Heaven” was selected as a print winner by The Boston
Printmakers North American Print Biennial, Boston, MA and included in 2013-
2014 traveling exhibitions in Boston and California. In 2014 her print, “Tiger’s
Back II” was selected to participate in the Southern Graphic National and
International Traveling Exhibition program 2015-2018.
Beej is represented by Gallery 72, in Omaha, NE. She is also a new member of
the prestigious California Society of Printmakers.
Nierengarten-Smith’s studio is located in Santa Fe, NM where she lives with her
husband and their two Japanese Akitas.
