José Benigno is a brazilian sculptor and artist. Self-taught, he began to work young with pieces of wood and created his own style in which he portrays the beauty of human body movement through pieces that refer to dance, the profane, the sacred and the religious. Hand-carved pieces celebrate love, life and human beauty.
The artist began exhibiting at the Ipanema Fair in the 1980s and is currently a recognized sculptor in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
José Benigno presents the collection "Wood Bodies" is a synthesis of his style, which brings elements of Brazilian culture as the consecration of the beauty of bodies, the plasticity of movements.
