Jozef Bloks

Artworks by Jozef Bloks (4 collages) are included in the collection of the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands. This is a part of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. These works of art are in the possession of the Municipal Museum Amsterdam where they are exhibited during educational exhibitions.

He was born in 1951 in Eindhoven (Netherlands). Nowadays he lives in Spain in the picturesque town of Altea.

He studied at the Royal Academy of Art and Design in 's Hertogenbosch in Holland.

Exhibitions of paintings, drawings and objects in numerous galleries, companies and government institutions all over the world. New exhibitions are coming up.

Jozef Bloks does not limit himself only to the two-dimensional plane.

He studied at the Royal Academy of Art and Design in 's Hertogenbosch. Famous artists taught at this academy. Thus, Jozef was taught by Anthon Beeke (known for his alphabet with naked people).
And Pieter Engels, who once was asked to make a three-dimensional work of art in front of a new bank building for an amount of 100,000 guilders. (Pieter didn't like the bank manager. He was an inflated figure). On the day of the opening, he walked over with a shovel in his hand and dug a three-dimensional hole in the lawn in front of the bank building. The bank manager was furious, Pieter made all the front pages of the newspapers. A trial followed and he received 100,000 guilders. Although these artists could not teach, the stories they told about their lives were very instructive.

CITY REVISITED (inspired by writer Jack Kerouac) - Music group PAUZE (Jozef: guitar and vocals). Location de Fabriek, branch of the Van Abbe Museum Eindhoven. Music was broadcast by the VPRO (radio program 'Radiola' by Willem de Ridder).

ASZ Installation on the occasion of the commemoration of the dead WW II in the Effenaar music center in Eindhoven. Also performing with the Casa Container Girls.

MAN-HEIM Theater 't Hof, Bergeijk - with live music and dance. Painting projected on the stage screen. When the canvas opened the painting came to life. Theme: Production and Consumption.

GARDEN OF FLESH AND BLOOD - 48 hour movement theater. To enter the play area (an old chapel), visitors had to make their way through a corridor of paintings made on plastic - which were cut into strips.

TABLEAU VIVANT - Painting of 6 x 12 meters during Queen's Day - with music and dance. The public could walk through it. Theme: Cold War in Europe.
