Brit Webber is an abstract expressionist painter whose work is largely informed by the theoretical foundations of architecture and design. Her works explore ways of capturing the essence of an idea through marks, colors and compositions and although she works primarily in acrylic, she often infuses other media such as graphite, oil pastels, and ink to emphasize contrasting concepts or details. She is currently based in the United States.

From the artist:

I approach my work as play in the sense that I am always in pursuit of the perfect expression of an idea. Is it a mark made in haste to express brevity? Or one that takes more time and care to craft in an effort to express the passage of time or growth? Maybe a sharp, thin line that cuts over, through, or behind to express heightened energy? Or one thick and bold enough to cover every other line that came before it to express stature and triumph? In asking questions such as these, I’m feeding my curiosity about the many ways in which we can capture the essence of an idea and how we can then use this to suspend ideas in space and time, giving them tangible form.
