Bruce Peebles

Bruce Peebles is a contemporary Australian artist whose practice is grounded in the expressive power of painting. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, his artworks explore themes of light, movement, and the natural rhythms of land and water. His evocative compositions—ranging from meditative seascapes to vibrant, abstract interpretations of sun glitter and the Australian outback—invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with a sense of wonder.

Bruce brings a rich visual sensibility to his painting, informed by his earlier career as a multi-award-winning advertising photographer and director. Awarded ‘Master Photographer’ by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, his creative work has spanned editorial, commercial, and fine art contexts. His experience in visual storytelling continues to shape his painting practice, where light, color, and rhythm become tools for emotional expression.

He has exhibited widely, led workshops, and served as a judge in both art and photography awards across Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.

Trained in fine art practices and techniques, honed over four decades in advertising photography, Bruce travels, photographs and paints full time. Exploring the finer aspects of composition, balance, harmony and design he loves breaking the rules, often turning mistakes into ideas and subsequent artworks.
