Carmen Rey

I started painting in 2014 and my technique is evolving since then. I am focused mainly in representing the human figure.
My work is aimed at people who seek more than decoration in art: works that speak to them, that provoke questions, that accompany them. I believe in art as a mirror, a refuge, and a form of inner knowledge. Therefore, each of my pieces is conceived not only as an aesthetic object, but as a presence with a soul.
I include here my collections "Visions of the Portrait", "Intimacies", and part of "Internal Landscape", as it is mostly sold.

My artistic education started at 2014 with the artist José Mª Caamaño, and at MEAM, Modern Art European Museum, where I assisted to live drawing and painting figure courses, as part of the Painter's Career program. Since 2017 I continued to grow and develop my skills in intensive workshops on oil portrait, cityscape, illustration, etc., with amazing artists like Joshua LaRock, Jacob Dhein, Jafet Blanch, Irene Cuadrado, Ismael Fuentes, Felipe Alonso, Paco Lafarga, Antonio López, Alejandro Carpintero, etc.

2nd Prize in the 4rth Illustrated Haikus Contest of the Spanish-Japanese Centre of the Salamanca University, in collaboration with the writer Nuria Espert Mas.
Group show in the Mercaders Palace of Cercle Artístic Sant Lluc in Barcelona.
