“As an abstract painter I work from a felt sense of the everyday things that surround me. A self taught painter, over the past 20 years I have learned that a painting emerges in twists and turns as I open myself to the materials and the process. It is a meditation, an act of surrender and surprise.
I believe we live in a time where it is important to know how to uplift ourselves. It is my hope that my work can contribute serenity, joy and peace to your live/work spaces.
Original art is alive with the energy of how it was made and who made it. I hope that some peaceful energy can make its way into any space you choose to enliven.
My life has unfolded much in the same way as one of my abstract paintings. Starting with a random mark or act, powered by curiosity and openness I have followed my the threads of my intuition. Sometimes it is completely surprising and perfect where we end up. This is how I morphed from a drawer of words and stories into an abstract painter. In the words of detective Dirk Gently in the Douglas Adams novel "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: "Sometimes I don't know where I'm going but I always know where I need to be."
My work is in homes from Norway and Scotland to the US, Canada and Singapore. It has appeared in Tricycle Magazine, Buddhadharma Magazine and on the cover of the book “Lotus Petals In The Snow.” Two small works are in the Postal Art Collection of The National Museum of Canada.
