Casimira Sacasa

I am a woman, a mother and an artist, telling my story, remembering HERstory through art.

I am Latin American, born in Washington, DC. My large-scale abstract landscape paintings and wearable sculpture jewelry have been forming part of private art collections around the globe for more than two decades.

I grew up surrounded by books and storytellers. Each piece I create tells a story and invites others to tell their stories. Dreams, nature, dance, yoga, travels, meditation and personal mythology influence all of my creations. Motherhood burst my heart wide open. My two young children are my greatest source of inspiration, daring me to continue surrendering to life's sacred dance by staying committed to my soul's work.

I have an educational background in art history and romance languages and consider myself an autodidactic abstract painter. I've lived and studied in Florence, Italy, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Granada, Nicaragua and Seattle, Washington.
