Catherine Chan

Catherine is a self-taught watercolor artist born and raised in Manila. Already keen in the arts at a very young age, Catherine would always doodle and sketch whatever captures her mind.

In 2016, she learned to paint in watercolor. When she experienced it the first time, she was extremely fascinated and drawn by its beauty: the flow of colors on water, the transparency and luminosity achieved by the medium jolted her senses. It is like no other. Then she knew that it is for her. She felt a strong urge to pursue an unrivalled passion.

A big introvert that she is, Catherine loves to spend time alone in her thoughts. She has a very strong connection with nature, and that's where she gets her inspiration from. The majestic beauty of the sea, misty mountains, the woods, quiet lakes, and moody skies are her favorite subjects to paint.

Some days, colors and forms randomly burst in her imagination which she enjoys to convey in her paintings in loose and impressionistic style.
