Here is a quick look at my semi-colourful (colorful if American) past. I went to art-school in Wiesbaden, Germany, studying illustration and commercial art. During that time I also taught myself photography. After graduation I worked for a couple of ad agencies as well as freelancing as a photo-journalist for picture magazines.
After immigrating to Canada, I worked briefly as an artist for one agency, then switched to motion picture work. While eventually working as a freelance director of photography on many films and TV series, I also maintained an art studio in Toronto, creating pop-art pieces, as they were called at the time. After moving to Vancouver, I opened up a TV commercial production house, shooting and directing hundreds of those nasty devils.
During those years I also started writing fiction (humour/satire), having published three (apparently quite forgettable) novels.
I have now retired and somewhat returned to my roots. Aside from realistic pictures, I create what I might call photo-art. Currently I work on macro-shots of modern car headlights and other parts, computerizing them into abstracts. Following is a mix of a variety of works.
