Chris Packer

Chris lives and works in Sydney, where he attended the National Art School. At one point when he was there, he re-introduced the discarded masking tape back into a hard-edge work. Later on he replaced masking tape with cotton haberdasher's tape, little expecting that this would become the core of his practice. His method is usually to gesso lengths of tape and then apply acrylic using an airbrush. Sometimes he leaves the gesso bare and works just with shadows and the play of light.
