A body of work that explores expressionism with realism and abstraction.

My work is an interpretation of found images online, that I feel compelled to examine and explore.
I am interested in traditional genres such as portraiture and figuration and I use photographs as a point of departure, however, ultimately my work is about the process of painting- the unforseen, the accidental, the pleasant and sometimes unpleasant surprises.
I have no definitive aim when I begin a new work, and as such, am happy to play around with a piece until I figure out which direction to take it, so the end result is often unexpected.
I graduated in Dublin with a BA in Fine Art in 2003, and have worked largely with commissions since then. I have pieces in numerous private and corporate collections: Such as Nissan, Chevrolet, ESB (Electricity Supply Board) Ireland. I have partaken in group exhibitions in association with The Blue Leaf Gallery, Dublin and in London.
