Born in 1966, Steven Low Thia Kwang is one Singaporean who specialised in using Clay to express his inner thoughts and love for visual beauty. His inspiration never fails to move away from the context of Nature.
Steven describes clay as one of the strongest source of energy to Human Being. The power contained within, never fails to load him with strength. He embraces clay with tender love and expresses his gratitude to Mother Nature for sending this dear friend to his life.
Currently, Steven works as an Artist in Residency at Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle. His mission as a ceramist and passion for the art of Wood Firing motivates him to re-investigate the Thow Kwang Dragon Kiln, one of the last two dragon kiln in Singapore. He went on to construct a minigama to continue his love for exploration in wood firing.
Till now, Steven has accumulated 23 years of experience in this field of Ceramic Arts. He still continue to strive as an Independent Artistic Ceramist, bringing new vision and perspectives to everyone.
