Corinne has exhibited her original oil paintings in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Melbourne for more than ten years. She paints from her home in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales.
Fashion, females, fabric and jewellery are the aesthetic concerns of Corinne's work. The settings are firmly rooted in the film and literary noirs of the 40s and 50s.
Corinne creates each original work from the first stage of dressing her model in gowns and jewellery from her vintage wardrobe. Oil on linen is her medium of choice. Her inspiration comes from old world portraits, particularly Sargent.
Her works ooze sensuality and glamour but are often underscored by a darker narrative. Where there is a narrative it is always obscured, much like the female form adorned in clothing and jewellery. This is a highly stylised vision set in an epoch where all popular cultural ideas about femininity were about to shatter into the feminist resurgence of the 1960s.
