EXHIBITIONS

Many of my works offered on Saatchi Art are "plein air" works made on location. These outdoor, on-site renderings are able to capture the light and vibrancy of the time and place, that cannot effectively be portrayed in the studio.

Having studied with, being mentored by and having the opportunity to paint with a number of well-known Canadian Masters, my works render classic motifs but are also contemporary Canadian art.

Apprenticed in the Studios of Sam Black, BCSFA CSPWC FCA RCA RWS: and Jack Shabolt, BCSFA CGP CSPWC OC RCA . They and other painters associated with the Canadian art movement of the 1930's onward I was fortunate to meet were brilliant inspirations and offered sage advice with respect to my art . I'm indebted to these iconic Canadian Masters

Winner of numerous awards during group and solo exhibitions for over 35 years in public, civic and commercial galleries his work is found practically world-wide. Recipient of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 collections of note include the Canadian Government (Beijing Embassy), Queens Park, Toronto, the late Dr. Cecil H. Green, Founder of Texas Instruments (who had a small Cosbie oil sketch hanging in his private apartment along with American masters Andrew Wyeth and Grant Wood) to name a few. Numerous times over the years his work has also been included in numerous public and private gallery exhibitions with many past and present, well-known Canadian artists (I.e. the Group of Seven, the Beaver Hall Group, Joe Fafard, Jack Shadbolt, David Thauberger, etc.etc)
