Visual artist and graphic arts professional, Carlos Yasoshima (b. 1948, in the city of São Paulo and son of a Japanese father and a Brazilian mother) has a postgraduate degree in Graphic Design and a degree in Social Communication. He worked as an art director for the main advertising agencies in Brazil, always working as a visual artist. He studied screen printing, painting and lithography with relevant figures from the Brazilian artistic scene. A visual artist with an emphasis on painting on different supports, he also made inroads into drawing and engraving techniques. Since the 1980s, he has been exhibiting individually and participating in collective exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, with an emphasis on the individual exhibition held at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo-MASP (SP), as well as the permanent exhibition at the Japão-Liberdade Subway Station (São Paulo Metro), among other shows, in Brazil and abroad, such as those held at the Brazil-Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Tokyo, Atami and Kyoto), at Agora Gallery (Soho, NY), at the Salão Brasileiro de Arte (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília), at the Brazilian British Center (São Paulo/SP) and at the Memorial da América Latina (São Paulo/SP).
