Darlys Vandevoort

I am originally from Pella, Iowa and now live and work in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I am represented by the Artists’s Cooperative Gallery in Omaha’s downtown Old Market district. I enjoy a variety of mediums and techniques and experiment often. A common theme in my work is color and texture. I periodically incorporate actual puzzle pieces into my work to tickle my viewer’s eye.

I attended school in Pella, Iowa and have taken a few workshops over the years, one of which was with Daniel Greene for portraiture. I learn a lot by teaching all ages and capabilities, including helping quadriplegics paint with their mouths. God gave me the gift of art, so that’s what I do.

I am part of a featured art show at the Artists’s Cooperative Gallery every year in downtown Omaha.
