Deborah Lovett

I am an award -winning documentary Director /cameraperson. I have made observational documentaries for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. I have worked all over the world, in challenging environments and conflict zones.

I am a Fine Art graduate, studying at St Martins School of Art and Middlesex Polytechnic. When I graduated, I began my career in documentaries but for the last 20 years I have continued to draw. The observational skills in drawing feed back into my documentary camera work. Drawing helps my concentration, it challenges the way I observe and look at things both visually and intellectually. It helps me think and makes me look. Recently I am spending more time drawing and hope to continue developing this skill. Observational drawing for me is a raw authentic and immediate response to life, a thought on paper.
