After close to 30 years of not picking up a paintbrush, Dean started painting again in the fall of 2012.
Since then, he has painted close to 100 large-format portraits and enjoys donating his work to local
charities that include: The Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, Betterment Cleveland, Fostering
Hope, Providence House, and Friends of the Shelter.
Dean lives in Sagamore Hills with his wife, two children and giant, fluffy Sheepadoodle. #warriorartist.
All sale of works by Dean Skinner on Saatchi Art are facilitated through DeChant Art Consulting.
Dean was one of a select group of artists to display his work at the Derek Hess Gallery, Acting Out
Fest 2017 Art Exhibit; was the featured artist in The Dean Skinner Exhibit at The Eric Mull Gallery in
2018; and his painting of beloved Cleveland street musician, Maurice Reedus Jr, was used for the
2014 film documentary, The Saxman. Most recently, Dean was invited to participate in the Isolation
Nation art exhibit by DWD Exhibitions out of the UK, showcasing work created during the COVID-19
pandemic from artists around the world.
