I feel my best work emerges
when I pursue that which is uncertain.
I prefer to paint from a place of intuitive,
free-associative engagement,
accommodating equal measures
of exploration, contemplation and play.
Embracing accidents as seeds of
possible innovation, I often resort
to sweeping revisions, seeking an
unforeseen outcome.
In the surfaces that result, evidence of
countless edits remain, inviting intimacy
and forensic exploration.
Studied painting and art history at the University of British Columbia, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, and the Instituto Nacionale de Bellas Artes, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
