“Want to be curious, to be alert, to seize the moment, the angle of view, the complicit light. Transcribe them into an image that will allow us to share the questions and prolong the astonishment.”
Artist and author, Denis Bruneau breaks the codes of photography. He is interested in industrial wastelands, unusual environments, and abandoned land that bears witness to a bygone activity.
His eye tracks materials and graphic lines. He captures light to play with contrasts. On his photos of a refined realism, no characters but the traces of their passage... imprints of life.
Denis Bruneau constructs an artistic work from subjects which do not present any specific beauty in themselves, but that his gaze invites us to consider in a manner positive, as depositaries of aesthetic value.
An unconventional bias to “show” photographs as “food for thought” to surprise the viewer, invite them to share the discreet charm of improbable places or fleeting moments.
More than sixty exhibitions and participation in photographic events in France and Europe.
