Denise Campbell

My work is, and always has been, firmly based in the natural world. Here I find my inspiration, whether it be by flying above the landscape, walking through the desert, or watching a bird's nest in Spring.
I work in both oil and acrylic on canvas and many of my walks through the landscape are expressed in oilstick on French handmade papers. In Australia I have been constantly focused on desert landscapes, in particular from an aerial perspective. Now living in Spain my palette and focus has, for the moment, shifted to the mountains and the aerial view of the inevitable man-made landscape of the Spanish countryside and NATURE in general. The animal life is different here, in particular with so many birds of prey, vultures, eagles, hawks and kites. Deer and wild boar are also prevalent, while the landscape can be so desert like yet at times as green as Ireland.

In the late 90`s in my post teaching career, my tertiary studies involved a Creative Fine Art Certificate and Diploma of Fine Arts studies at the Tertiary Institute of Tafe, Meadowbank Art School in Sydney,Australia. Short specialist courses and weekend workshops at various Universities have developed further skills.

I have exhibited constantly since 2000 in Australia, Spain, Italy, UK and USA.
20 of these exhibitions being Solo shows and at least 21 group shows.
