Eleriin Ello (b. 1984 in Tallinn) is a freelance painter, who lives and works in Tallinn. She graduated with a BA in print graphics (2007) and an MA in painting (2010) from the Estonian Academy of Arts. Eleriin Ello has participated in exhibitions since 2008. Her work has been awarded with the Young Painter Prize of the Baltic States (3rd place, 2012) and Sadolin Art Award in 2016.
Ello's poetical style has a dream-like effect. With an aim to create intimate atmospheres and certain harmonious states of being, the artist main focus has long been on depicting different manifestations of nature and light. While previously Ello’s painting style was basically realistic, it has by now turned into explorations of pure abstract painting.
“My main focus is on the inner states of being, on awareness and freedom. I started to paint more abstract out of a need, of a deeper calling, allowing paint to flow freely on my canvases, and discovering what wants and needs to be expressed. It has been a journey of finding trust in my own inner impulses and learning to know myself. What I wish is to create paintings that touch with their inner brightness and depth, creating spaces of harmony and tranquility, spaces of healing and rest.“
